A deviation from health care but a highly successful one. Attracting several thousand visitors and sponsored by Classic FM, Classicalive celebrated the increasing popularity of classical music. Two live concert halls, built into the exhibition hall, hosted major performances including cellist Julian Lloyd Webber, percussionist Evelyn Glennie OBE, clarinettist Emma Johnson MBE, violinist Nicola Benedetti, harpist Catrin Finch, soprano Hayley Westenra and the Band of the Scots Guards. Exhibitors included musical instrument manufacturers such as Yamaha and Jupiter, Orchestras such as the Royal Philharmonic, conservatoires such as Trinity College of Music and record labels such as Universal Classics and Warner Classics.
